Clinical Coordinator Residential Rehabilitation
Hazell McKenzie MSW, Clinical Coordinator, graduated in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in History from York College. Hazell’s studies were focused on West Africa and the Transatlantic slave trade, however, her life experiences led her to becoming a Master of Social Work. Hazell is the creator of an innovative idea called “The smart diagnostic instrument” AKA the social work smart doll. It provides a tool for making disclosure of Childhood sexual abuse easier for children and allow the professional to access this information to tailor a specific intervention for that child. Hazell graduated from Binghamton University in 2019 with a Master of Social Work degree and currently works as Fairview’s Clinical Coordinator for Residential Rehabilitation.
Prior to obtaining her Master of Social Work degree, Hazell worked as a Family Advocate, for a school-based program in Brooklyn, NY. This program provided mental health engagement, intervention and follow-up support to help overcome resistance to treatment.
